SERVICES PROVIDED.

I offer both face-to-face and remote sessions, depending on availability. Face-to-face sessions take place in my residential therapy room in Milton Keynes.
While I prefer to meet in person for the initial assessment, remote assessments are also available if you are based elsewhere in the country.
I have had a great deal of success treating clients remotely, particularly in the area of OCD.
What is CBT?
CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It helps individuals identify the links between their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and bodily sensations. CBT is an evidence-based therapy model recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), a government body that reviews research evidence and consults with experts in the field. NICE recommends CBT for a wide range of mental health problems.
CBT is a structured and active form of therapy. Evidence-based interventions are guided by psychological theory, a collaborative formulation, and your specific therapy goals. It is a practical approach that focuses mainly on the here and now. CBT is typically time-limited and goal-oriented, aiming to help you understand your difficulties and empower you with tools to break the vicious cycles that maintain them.
CBT with Children & Young people
My approach is family-based. Involving parents and other family members can be helpful in most cases. However, this approach may not always be appropriate. As a young person, you have the choice to be seen alone, and this will be discussed with you during your assessment.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based, structured therapy that uses bilateral stimulation such as guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones to help the brain process and integrate traumatic memories. Originally developed to treat PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), EMDR has also been found effective for a range of other mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, phobias, and complicated grief.

OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
I developed a particular interest in OCD while completing my MSc dissertation on 'Using Family-Based CBT for Children and Young People with OCD.

What is OCD?
OCD (obsessive Compulsive Disorder) is a disorder “marked by uncontrollable and recurring thoughts (obsessions), repetitive and excessive behaviours (compulsions) or both” (National Institute of Mental Health).
OCD Treatment
Having treated OCD in both adults and children, I have observed that the disorder often manifests differently depending on age. Treatment will typically involve Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based intervention that is recommended as a first-line treatment for OCD by the NICE guidelines.
Formulation and treatment are always individualised and carefully adapted. Factors such as age, co-occurring mental health disorders, and neurodiversity are consistently taken into account. For children and young people, treatment is often family-based, reflecting the high level of parental accommodation and the broader impact of the disorder on the family system. In situations where a child or young person is not ready to engage in direct therapy, I offer parent-only sessions utilising the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) approach.

Supervision
I have many years of experience of offering supervision to other CBT Therapists and provide clinical supervision within my role in the NHS.
