FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

Where will sessions take place?
I offer both face-to-face and remote sessions. Face-to-face sessions are held in my residential therapy room in Milton Keynes. For initial assessments, face-to-face sessions are preferable but not essential.

How quickly can I be seen?
I aim to see clients as quickly as possible. I am transparent about ongoing treatment availability before booking an assessment. You’re welcome to use the contact form to arrange a free 10-minute discovery call to discuss current availability.

How long will sessions last?
Assessment appointments typically last around 60 minutes. Standard treatment sessions are 50 minutes, although some ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) sessions may require up to 90 minutes.

How frequent will sessions be?
To maximise effectiveness, I recommend weekly sessions initially, helping to maintain momentum and motivation. However, frequency will be tailored to your clinical needs and discussed after your assessment. As therapy progresses, sessions often become less frequent to allow time for consolidating skills and building confidence.

How are fees paid?
Following a discovery call, if we agree to proceed, a provisional assessment appointment will be booked. This is confirmed once payment is received. Treatment sessions should be paid for at least 24 hours in advance.  DNA (Did Not Attend) and cancellation policies apply. Please contact me for details about current pricing and fees.  For clients using health insurance, payment terms may differ. Please use the contact form to inquire about insurance companies I am registered with.

What happens if I cancel or do not attend (DNA)?
I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations to avoid charges. Late cancellations or non-attendance will be charged at the full session rate, as it's difficult to fill appointments at short notice. Full policy details are available upon request.

What is Confidentiality?

Most of what you share with me during our session is kept strictly confidential unless there is a risk identified to yourself or others. Reports to your GP or other professionals are only provided if specifically requested and are charged separately. If information needs to be shared with another professional, this will be discussed with you beforehand.

Children & Young People (0–16 years)

It can be very helpful for parents, legal guardians, carers, and other family members to be involved in therapy. However, some young people prefer to be seen on their own and request that what they share remains confidential.

What you share with me is confidential. If you disclose information that I believe may indicate a risk of harm to yourself or others, I will encourage you to share this with a parent, carer, or guardian.

There may be occasions when I must break confidentiality if I believe it is necessary to share information in order to keep you or others safe. This would only happen if I identify a risk of harm or if there are safeguarding concerns. In these circumstances, I have a duty to act and share information with relevant services to ensure everyone's safety.

Wherever possible, I will discuss this with you before sharing any information, unless it is not clinically appropriate to do so.

ETHICAL PRACTICE

I receive regular clinical supervision to maintain my accreditation and ensure I provide the highest standard of service. During supervision, I may discuss relevant details of your case. My supervisor is fully accredited by the BABCP. I also seek supervision for my EMDR practice with a suitably trained and accredited supervisor.
